When you use voice transformation, your microphone audio streams through our infrastructure and to a third-party AI speech processing provider acting on our behalf, solely to produce the transformed output. It is processed in transit and returned to you. We do not store your audio or your transcripts, and we instruct our provider to disable content logging so your generations are not retained in its systems either. We do not use your recordings to train publicly available voice models of you.
What identifies you depends on where you got GenderShift. On Steam, your account is your Steam ID; we never receive or collect your email address. On the direct (non-Steam) version, your account is an anonymous identifier the app creates on first launch; signing in with an email is optional, and if you do (or you buy on this website), we use that email only to link your account and purchases. In both cases we keep your credit balance and your purchase and usage history: which features consumed credits and when, never what you said.
Device and application diagnostics such as app version, operating system, crash logs, latency and performance metrics, feature settings in use (for example which voice, mode, or emotion preset was active), and IP-derived approximate region. None of this contains recordings or transcripts. We use it to keep the Service fast and working.
Purchases on Steam are processed by Valve. Purchases in the app and on this website are processed by Stripe, Inc.; Turing Speech LLC is the seller of record for direct purchases. Stripe collects and handles your payment details, billing country, and receipt email under its own privacy policy. Our servers receive a purchase confirmation (product, amount, and the checkout email used to credit your account); your name and card details are never uploaded to or stored on GenderShift systems.
Only service providers who process data on our behalf and under contract, and each receives only what it needs:
We may disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a business transfer, in which case this policy continues to apply to previously collected data.
We are a US company and our providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Audio and transcripts: not retained. Your conversations are processed in transit, so there is nothing to delete after your session ends. Account and purchase records: retained while your account is open and as required for tax and accounting law. Technical logs: retained on a rolling short-term basis.
Depending on where you live (including the EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA, Japan APPI, and Korea PIPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, email developer@gendershift.app and include your Steam ID (or, if you have a website account, write from its email address) so we can locate your records. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Audio and account data are encrypted in transit. Access to production systems is restricted and logged. No system is perfectly secure, so we also minimize what we keep, which is the strongest protection available.
The marketing website itself never captures your microphone; the voice samples on the homepage are pre-recorded and ship with the page. To understand where our audience is and to keep bots out of our numbers, each page view records a single anonymous row: an approximate location (country, region, city) derived from your connection by Cloudflare, a one-way hashed and salted version of your IP address (never the raw IP), your browser's language and time zone, coarse device details, the page and referrer, and an automated-traffic flag. We do not use this to identify you and we do not sell it.
The site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Your chosen language is stored in your browser's local storage so the page loads in the right language next time; that value stays on your device.
We will post updates to this policy here and, for material changes, notify you through the Service or by email before they take effect.
